Data sources, licenses & disclaimers
Ingrediensia shows where product data came from and keeps bootstrap imports separate from real scans.
Current product sources
Open Food Facts data is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL); individual database contents are under the Database Contents License. Product images may have separate Creative Commons licensing. © Open Food Facts contributors.

Bootstrap policy
Ingrediensia only accepts bootstrap datasets after their official license permits the intended reuse. Every record must retain source, license, source identifier, retrieval date, and import-batch provenance. Imports are never represented as user scans. Ambiguous or incompatible licenses are rejected.
Health and dietary disclaimer
Ingrediensia provides general educational information, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Scores are estimates based on available label data and an evolving rules-based method. They do not measure safety for an individual.
Vegan, vegetarian, animal-derived, and source-dependent labels are best-effort classifications—not certifications. Ingredient sources and manufacturing processes can change. Always inspect the package and contact the manufacturer for allergies, religious restrictions, pregnancy, medical conditions, or strict dietary needs.
Optional health priorities use simple Nutrition Facts signals to identify obvious issues such as high sodium, added sugar, saturated fat, or declared trans fat. They do not determine whether a product is appropriate for a diagnosis, medication, age, pregnancy, or treatment plan. Arthritis guidance is limited to general dietary patterns because a package label cannot establish an individual inflammatory trigger.
Potential considerations identify label facts or evidence-based topics that may be relevant to some people. They do not assert that a product or ingredient causes, prevents, diagnoses, or treats any disease. “Potential” and “emerging” signals expressly communicate uncertainty and individual variability.
How claims are separated
Ingrediensia distinguishes manufacturer or database facts from its own rules-based analysis. Ingredient text, nutrition values, allergen statements, and serving sizes are attributed to the displayed data source or package label. Scores, processing categories, dietary classifications, and potential considerations are Ingrediensia’s independent interpretations.
Ingredient-processing categories are descriptive and do not mean that every processed ingredient is harmful or every natural ingredient is safe. Disease-related considerations are shown only when a defined label or nutrition rule is met and include the rule, intended audience, evidence level, uncertainty language, and a supporting reference.
Data and camera disclaimer
Manufacturer labels and public databases can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Live label reading can misread text; Ingrediensia asks you to review extracted ingredients and nutrition before analysis. Camera frames used for label reading are transient and are not stored as photographs.
Corrections and disputes
Product formulations and labels change. When a public-database transcription is demonstrably inconsistent with its package image, Ingrediensia may apply a narrow, barcode-specific correction and link to the reviewed evidence. It does not silently generalize that correction to other products.
Users and manufacturers should first correct inaccurate source data through the linked Open Food Facts product record or the applicable source database. A corrected upstream record will be reviewed on a subsequent refresh. Urgent allergy or safety decisions must always be based on the physical package and manufacturer guidance—not this service.
Independence, trademarks, and product opinions
Ingrediensia is an independent informational service. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, certified by, or endorsed by any manufacturer, retailer, data provider, or brand unless expressly stated. Product names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the products being discussed.
Scores and classifications are good-faith, reproducible opinions generated from the disclosed methodology and available data. They are not declarations that a lawful product is unsafe, defective, or unsuitable for every consumer.
Reliance and limitation
Use Ingrediensia at your own discretion. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Ingrediensia is not a substitute for a package label, manufacturer instructions, clinician, allergist, or registered dietitian.
This public notice is not a complete commercial Terms of Service and should not be treated as legal advice. Before commercial launch, advertising, sponsorship, or substantial traffic, the operator should have qualified counsel prepare jurisdiction-appropriate Terms and Privacy notices and review the scoring claims.
Analytics and privacy
No account is required. A manually entered country, region, or city is optional, stored on your device, and attached only to future scan events. Ingrediensia does not request precise GPS location. Public analytics are aggregate-only, apply minimum-group privacy thresholds to location views, and exclude bootstrap imports.
